1. Overview
Codex Accounting Assistant is a private local app that connects Codex to QuickBooks Online when authorized by the account owner. This policy explains what information the app accesses and how it is handled.
2. Information Accessed
With your authorization, the app may access QuickBooks Online data needed to complete requested actions, including company information, customers, items, invoices, balances, and related accounting records.
3. How Information Is Used
QuickBooks data is used only to perform actions you request, such as finding a customer, creating a customer, listing invoice items, or creating an invoice.
4. Token Storage
OAuth tokens are stored locally on the user's computer under the app's local configuration folder. Tokens are used to maintain the QuickBooks connection and refresh access when needed.
5. Sharing and Sale of Data
The app does not sell QuickBooks data. The app does not intentionally share QuickBooks data with third parties except as necessary to communicate with Intuit's QuickBooks Online API and to process user-requested actions through Codex.
6. Data Retention
The app does not maintain a separate business database of QuickBooks records. Local OAuth token files remain on the user's computer until deleted by the user or replaced during reconnection.
7. Revoking Access
You can revoke the app's QuickBooks access through your Intuit or QuickBooks account settings. You can also delete the local token files from the app's configuration folder.
8. Security
The app relies on Intuit OAuth for authorization. Users should protect their computer, environment variables, and local token files from unauthorized access.
9. Contact
For questions about this private app, contact the app owner or administrator responsible for the local installation.
